Electoral Process

The electoral process goes through several phases before the final results are announced and certified.

The main stages are: Voter registration (or voter registration update); political entities registration; candidate nomination; exhibition and challenges; campaign period; polling and counting; preliminary results; certification and announcement of results.

Throughout the entire electoral process, complaints about any electoral activity may be submitted to IHEC by any eligible voter or organisation other than referenda and/or election observers.
