Mukhdad al Sharifi: Number of visitors that registers their data biometrically increases to 23 percent of the rate of voters

The IHEC's Member of Board of Commissioners (BoC) & Official Spokesperson, Mr. Mukhdad al Sharifi declared that the number of voters who visited the Biometric Registration Centers (BRCs) in the provinces where determined to open has increased to 23 percent from the rate of voters

Mr. al Sharifi said that the number of the voters who visited the BRCs reached to more than 4,000,000 (four millions voters), that equal to 23 percent of the rate of voters. He added that Wasit Province registered the highest number of turnout of voters who reached to 69 percent of voters, while Muthanna province registered the second rank by fulfilling 53 percent of voters

Mr. al Sharifi confirmed also that the IHEC has opened the BRCs in around 15 provinces throughout Iraq since 2014 except in Ninevah, Salah al Ddin and Anbar provinces. The IHEC will continue to work in these BRCs until 20 April 2016. Based on this, Mr. al Sharifi called on all the citizens, the social activists, and the electoral process stakeholders to urge the voters to visit the BRCs that deployed throughout the provinces in order to take the necessary actions for their registration by bringing their required official identifications for this purpose

It's worthy to say that the IHEC has opened the BRCs in around 15 provinces throughout Iraq in order to carry out the Biometric Registration Project and to register the voters electronically, as part of preparations to establish an accurate & reliable electronic voter lists
