IHEC attends project of purple fingers that organizes by the Ministry of Youth and Sports

         The IHEC represented by the Spokesperson and Member of the Board of Commissioners (BoC), Mr. Safa al Mosawi and the Head of Media Section, Mr. Aziz al Khikani had attended on 2 November a project of purple fingers which was organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) at al Mansour Hotel in Baghdad. The project was sponsored by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Jassim Mohammed Jaafar.


    The event was attended by the Member of the Council of Representatives (CoR), Mr. Abbas al Bayati, a number of the directors general in the MoYS, the director general of the Iraqi Media Network (IMN), Mr. Mohammed Jabbar al Shaboot, a number of Members of the Baghdad governorate council, and an elite from young people to support the upcoming electoral process in Iraq.


    In his speech, Mr. al Mosawi praised the efforts exerted by the MoYS to support this national strategic project that aimed to develop a policy for the youth category, since they represent a vital source for progress in the community and to create the electoral awareness among the Iraqi voters.


    The event focused on activating role of youth in building the electoral and democratic process in Iraq.


              This project came after several meetings took place between the IHEC and the MoYS and other Iraqi institutions to support running the upcoming Iraqi Council of Representative elections scheduled on 30 April 2014
.
